Obituary For Zach Hughes

Zachery Paul Hughes, 42, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home in Sherman. He was born May 28, 1982 to the late Douglas Paul Hughes and Clara Mae Credille Hughes. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Zach, whose infectious spirit lit up every room he entered. Known for his boundless energy and smile, Zach was the epitome of fun, always the life of the party and eager to dance. He always brought laughter and joy to those around him. He had a passion for hot rod cars and motorcycles. He loved any holiday he could decorate for and who could forget all the quirky costumes he proudly wore around Halloween. Despite his playful antics, spelling was never his forte, as he fondly insisted it's "Zachery with ery , not Zachary, ary". Living firmly in the 2000s, he cherished his rock revival jeans, affliction shirts, and flip flops, Growing up, he was a self proclaimed Mama’s boy and loved being alongside his brother and Dad fixing race cars or casting lines at the waterway. The beach held a special place in his heart, where he found happiness and peace. The course of Zach’s life was marked by a vast circle of friends, each of which shared a cherished place in his heart. But Zach’s unconditional love was for his boys, they defined him. Cole, who he lovingly called Forrest Gump, was his sidekick and up for any adventure with his Dad. And Jaxon, who he called “Mr. Wiggles or Skiggles” brought the little kid out in him, whether it was playing at the park or trips to the arcade. And his best friend/ Co-parent and mother of their beloved Cole, His memory will long be a cherished legacy of love and laughter. Services will be 1:00 pm on Saturday July 6, 2024, at Senter Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 am until service time at Senter Funeral Home chapel. Bro. Kerry Lee Peden and Bro. Ryan Gentry will be officiating. Honorary pall bearers will be Jeremiah Gasaway, Zack Hill, Randy Hallmark, Bradley Kilgo, Cole Frederick, Chris Kemp and Chris Parker. He is survived by his sons: Cole Hughes of Pontotoc and Jaxon Hughes of Tupelo; his grandson, Carter Hughes; his mother, Clara Mae Hughes; his sisters: Paula Hughes (Frank) and Clarissa Hughes; his brother, Eric "Tiny" Hughes, all of Fulton, his nephew Ryan Gentry (Kayla) of Tremont and Taylor Watts of Fulton, niece Madison Garrett (Holt) of Fulton, along with his great nieces and great nephew. He is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Paul Hughes.
