Obituary For Terry Edson Collier
MANTACHIE--Terry Edson Collier, 82, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born April 28, 1943 to the late O.O. Collier and the late Robbie Brown Collier. He was a member of Mantachie Methodist Church. Terry was a graduate of Tremont High School, where he later coached basketball from 1974 to 1981. He began his coaching career at Vina High School in 1966 and went on to coach both boys and girls basketball, as well as girls softball, at Mantachie High School from 1983 until his retirement in 1991. He played basketball at Itawamba Junior College before earning his degree in education from Mississippi State University. A proud veteran, Terry served six years in the National Guard as a Military Police officer. In addition to his career in education and service, he was a dedicated entrepreneur who owned and operated several businesses in Mantachie.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Thursday June 26, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Goodwin, Bro. Terry Paul Graham, and Bro. Charles McGaughy officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday June 26, at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughters; Sherry (Shane) Stephens of Golden, Terri Lynn (Todd) Herring of Iuka, Kerri (Scott) Collier of Mantachie, and Andrea Collier of Mantachie, grandchildren; Lauren Collier, Ivan Collier, Paden Collier, Pat (Julia) Gilley, Trevor Herring, Chad (Lexie) Stephens, Cole Stephens, and Cade Stephens, great grandchildren; Avan Collier, Maverick Gilley, and Kamp Gilley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra S. Collier, and his parents.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Lauren Collier, Ivan Collier, Paden Collier, Pat Gilley, Trevor Herring, Chad Stephens, Cole Stephens, and Cade Stephens.
