Obituary For Shane Ivey

Brandon Shane Ivey, 42, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, at Oxford, MS. He was born October 17, 1980 to the late Sydney Jefferson Ivey and Rita Ivey. Shane played his last song, January 27, 2023. He loved his music and played in several bands: Seeking Seven, KILLJAY, Somatic Theory, Social Void; He was a musical genius, that could play anything he set his mind to. He was a positive influence in the local music scene. There is now a hole in many lives as well as the lives of hundreds of people that Shane was loved by. God got another great band member. His love for music could never be shared by one band or one song. His most precious treasure was his daughter, Mya; who acquired his musical talents and is now 2nd Chair in the high school band playing a clarinet. Shane was a gamer and shared that passion with his daughter as well. If anyone knew Shane they knew about Mya. Mya's fondest moments with Shane were their daddy and daughter dates, exotic pet shows, watching movies, or simply playing games. Her birth of his precious Mya was the best day of his life. He was tech savvy at computers and electronics and helped many with those things. He was always interested in supporting Mya in whatever her endeavors. He was a big asset at Tullos Supply Company. He knew how to work on and fix every machine in the plant He started off as a machine operator and became plant manager for both plants. He was an irreplaceable key employee. Another big fan of Shane's was his mom, Rita. Most of his friends all knew of and loved Ms. Rita. Shane passed away doing what he loved. Memorial service will be 2:00, Friday, February 3, 2023 at Senter Funeral Directors with friends Dave Shields and Seth Roberts eulogizing and Bro. Randy Spencer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Senter Funeral Home. Survivors include his mother, Rita Ivey of Fulton; daughter, Mya Lynn Ivey; mother of his child, Shena Brewer of Fulton; uncle, Jerry Ivey; host of extended family and friends Preceded in death by his father, Sydney Jefferson Ivey.

Prayers and comfort to the family of Shane. I'm a drummer that never played some of their music genre from around Memphis TN and will never forget when I first met Shane and Robby, they actually let me sit in with them. I was nervous lol but Shane was coaching me a long since me and him had to sync up anyways But s really good guy and amazing bass player. To tell the truth I haven't seen or heard one better. Prayers to the family and the band. God bless y'all. And Shane till we meet again my friend 🙏❤️‍🩹🎸
