Obituary For Nell Thornton
FULTON--Nellie Rue Jamerson Thornton, 93, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023, at Charleston Place in Fulton. She was born May 6, 1930 to the late Luther Jamerson and the late Mayna Franks Jamerson in Itawamba County. Along with being a member of East Fulton Baptist Church, she was member of The Gleaner Sunday School Class, Women Auxiliary, choir, and The Young At Heart group. Nell loved her family and friends.
Services will be at 1 pm on Monday August 14, 2023 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Dewitt Bain, and Bro. Terry Paul Graham officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am - 1pm on Monday August 14 at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Mackie (Pat) Thornton of Fulton, grandchildren, Selena (Kevin) Nolan of Fulton, and Matt (Sable) Thornton of Bristol, TN, great grandchildren, Katlin (JonJon) Hancock of Tuscaloosa, AL and Jaxon Nolan of Fulton, great great grandson, Nolan Hancock, sister in law, Betty Umphers of Fulton, and brother in law, George Thornton of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bon Gene Thornton, parents, Luther and Mayna Jamerson, brothers, J.W. Jamerson, and Max Jamerson, and a sister, Betty Naden.
Pallbearers will be Matt Thornton, Kevin Nolan, Jaxon Nolan, Brad Naden, Mike Hill, and Hunter Hill.
