Charles Kilby Shields, 86, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 25, 1937 to the late Charlie Shields and the late Mattie Sue Russoe Shields. He ran a flower route and owned his own floral shop. He was a jack of all trades. Kilby worked in maintenance for Fulton hospital. He spent the last few of his work years in maintenance for Sunset Apartments in Mantachie. Kilby loved music and recorded several original songs. He had his own recording studio that many musicians utilized. He enjoyed spending his time in the few years at his camper in Savannah, TN on the Tennessee River. Services will be 1:00 pm on Saturday March 4, 2023, at Senter Funeral Directors with Bro. Bobby Jarrell officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 Saturday in the Senter Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Shirley Shields; children: Charlotte (John) Beck of Ramsey, IL, Eric (Stefanie) Shields of Saltillo, Angela (Danny Bell) Hughes, Heidi Spencer (Brad) Beasley of Homewood, AL; grandchildren: Chasity (Nolan) Perry, Jeffrey Oliver, Deedra Johnson, Jeremy South, Eddie Duty, Jr., Adam Duty, Samantha (Anthony) Culver, Erin Beasley, Josh Beasley; 7 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren; brother, Kelcy (Judy) Shields; sister, Betty Taylor.
