Obituary For John Payne

FULTON--John Payne, 77, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born May 19, 1946 to the late Frederick Oval Payne and the late Iva Lee Medley Payne. He was a truck driver most of his life and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. John loved to ride motorcycles, fishing, gardening, watching birds in his flower garden while sitting on his front porch drinking coffee. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Interment will be at Lindsey Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Wednesday June 7 at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Milzie Rae Evelyn Payne of Fulton, son, James (Ashley) Payne of Fulton, daughter, Gina (Neal) Pope of Fulton, grandchildren, Katelynn Payne, Katelyn Duke, Thomas Payne, Tyler Payne, Jennifer (Adrienne) Plourde, Clarendy Pope, Ashley (D.J.) Dulin, and John Bryan Pope, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter, brothers, Robert (Janell) Payne of Booneville, and Fred (Linda) Payne of Nettleton, sisters, Barbara Flood of Nettleton, and Carylon (Allen) Caldwell of Nettleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Iva Lee Payne.
