John Paul Jones Jr., 77, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born November 14, 1946 to the late John Paul Jones Sr. and the late Lovie Beard. He enjoyed farming, gardening, planting trees, and the smell of cut grass. He also enjoyed fishing, reading, and being outdoors. He valued a quality education. He enjoyed traveling to Chattanooga and riding the trains. He was a Pentecostal by faith. For many years John was a security guard at ER Carpenter and United Furniture companies. John graduated from Tremper High School in 1965 in Kenosha, WI. He also graduated from ICC and Mississippi University for Women in 1994.
Services will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday March 19, 2024, at Senter Funeral Directors with Bro. Casey Jones officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 Tuesday at Senter Funeral Directors chapel. Burial will be at Keyes Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his son, Timothy Jones; sister, Tamar Jones (Cecil) Lucas; brothers: Claude (Freeda) Jones, David (Peggy) Jones, William "Billy" (Leigh) Jones of Fulton, Casey (Debbie) Jones; nephews: Jacob Lucas, Jeremy (Britteny) Lucas, Christopher Lucas, Lee Jones, Corey Jones, Brian Jones, Frankie Espinosa; nieces: Tiffany (Desmond) Robbins, Bethany Jones, Stacey Jones, Libby Gaston, Stephanie Jones, Julie Jones, Sandra Lentz; host of many other extended family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Ellen Ann Jones; sisters: Nancy Dianne Bishop and Mary Sue Jones.
Pallbearers are David Jones, William "Billy" Jones, Jacob Lucas, Jeremy Lucas, Christopher Lucas, Tryton Robbins, Desmond Robbins
