Obituary For Joey Conn

Bobby Joe Conn, Jr., 61, of Tremont, passed away on December 22, 2023 at NMMC in Tupelo. Joey was born on February 15, 1962 to Bobby Joe Conn, Sr. and Martha Katherine Conn. Joey was raised and lived in Tremont, MS for most of his life. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1984 and his Master’s in English in 1986 from the University of Mississippi. He taught at several colleges before buying Tremont Grocery, which he owned and operated for many years. Joey also served as the mayor of Tremont for eight years. He was a public servant and he was proud to dedicate his abilities to his community. Joey was a spiritual man and was a member of the New Home Baptist Church in Fulton. He enjoyed reading, studying history, gardening, and sitting by the stove in his shop. He is survived by his children Eli, Lydia, John Victor, Tony, Eugene and Pauline; his sisters Pam and Cynthia, his mother Kat and his fiancé Sonja and her daughter Laura.
A visitation only will be from 11:00 to 12:00 Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Senter Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers and gifts the family asks to please donate to a charity of your choice in memory of Joey. Online condolences can be expressed at www.senterfuneraldirectors.com
