GRENADA-- Sylvester Holland, 72, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at his home. He was born on September 18, 1951, in Brinkley, AR. Sylvester worked as a diesel mechanic for most of his life and enjoyed working on anything mechanical. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, and the good relaxation of a cool breeze while sitting under a shade tree. He was known for telling jokes and stories of the good ole days but what brought him the most joy was spending time with his family, and friends, especially his grandson, Warren. Sylvester made many friends and memories during his time on earth and Lived Life To The Fullest.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Friday December 22, 2023 at Friendship Church of God in Charleston, MS with his son, Thomas Holland bringing the eulogy. Burial will be in Friendship Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 am - 1pm at Friendship Church of God.

He is survived by his son, Thomas (Monica) Holland of Fulton, grandson, Warren Holland of Fulton, siblings: Patsy (Joe) Stevenson of Grenada, Jimmy (Bonnie) Holland of AR, Edgar (Christina) Holland of Leland, MS, Travis (Cathy) Goad of Water Valley, MS, host of nieces and nephews, and his close friend, Danny Vance.
He was preceded in death by his papa--Elton Purvis Goad, mother, Daisy Bell Goad, wife, Alice Faye Jackson, brother, Author Holland, and brother in law, Joe Stevenson.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Holland, Edgar Holland, Travis Goad, Warren Holland, Will Murphree and Danny Vance.
