FULTON-Dorothy "Dot" Wood, 89, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical center in Tupelo. She was born August 21, 1936 to the late Reggie Wood and the late Burton Byram Wood. Dot was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where she found great comfort and joy in her faith. She was saved as a young teenager at Fairview Baptist Church, an experience that shaped her life and values. Her spiritual journey was a cornerstone of her identity, guiding her with grace and kindness.For 47 years, Dot worked tirelessly at the Blue Bell garment factory, retiring after a remarkable career marked by dedication and pride in her craft. Her commitment to excellence was evident in all she did, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.Above all, Dot cherished spending time with her family and friends. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and love for storytelling brought people together, creating memories that will be treasured by all who knew her. Whether sharing a laugh over a home-cooked meal or offering a kind word, Dot's presence was a gift to those around her.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday September 4, 2025, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Holsonback, Bro. Jackie Gray, and Bro. Chuck Lofton officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday September 4, at Senter Funeral Home.

She is survived by her brother, Ricky (Nancy) Wood of Fulton; nieces, Kim (Frank) Yielding of Fulton, and Melissa (Brad) Evans of Nettleton; nephews, Gary (Vicki) Hamm of Fulton, Jeremy (Shannon) Wood of Mooreville, Thomas (Allison) Wood of Mantachie, Tim (Cindy) Hayes of Fulton, and Chuck (Mary) Lofton of Avon, IN, and a host of great and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reggie and Burton Wood; sisters, Helen Lofton, Johnnie DeVaughn, and Peggy Hayes; brother, Danny Wood, and nephew, Donnie Lofton.
Pallbearers will be Gary Hamm, Thomas Wood, Zack Hamm, Bryson Hamm, Hunter Yielding, and Clayton Wood.
