I came to Golden, Mississippi in 2015 to meet and write a story about hunting with Charlie for Parker Pages magazine. He and Bessie were great hosts and made me feel welcome and at home. He is a legend in the Parker Gun Collectors Association. Here's a link to our forum where he is remembered: Passing of Charlie Cleveland - Parker Gun Collectors Association Forums

I, along with so many others, that never met Charlie felt as though we knew him through his posts on the Parker Gun Collectors Association pages. I enjoyed reading his posts and came away feeling a sense of kinship with Charlie. My condolences to his family.

I knew Charlie only through words, messages exchanged about things for which we shared a passion. If a man's words reveal his nature—and I believe they do—then Charlie's nature was one of love for family, the land, and its creatures. I'll miss this man I never met in person, but am richer for the words he shared with me. Peace to you, Charlie, and to your loved ones.

I loved Charlie's sense of humor and the many tales he wrote. I never got to meet him in person though we shared a love for guns, hunting, cars through his posts about Parker Shotguns and life in general. I am glad so many generations of his family and friends got to know him for so long.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I got to know Charlie through the Parker Gun Collectors Association. I always enjoyed his friendly and positive posts. He and I got to know each other better through our mutual love of 8 gauges. I sold him a project Parker 8 gauge that he revived and he supplied me with some 8 gauge shells when I bought another Parker 8 gauge. I hoped to meet him in person one day. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
