Obituary For Alvis Larry Jones

Alvis Larry Jones, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice. He was born January 5, 1946 to the late Arlander Jones and the late Georgia Mae Steele Jones. He was a longstanding member and Deacon of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a member of the Dorsey-Friendship Fire Department. He worked in the early years at the Tombigbee and Dorsey Water Systems. He was self-employed for most of his life with excavating and construction type work. He loved his family, church family, and friends dearly. Services will be 11:00 am on Saturday April 8, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church in Peppertown with Bro. Mark Tutor and Bro. Shane Raines officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 pm Friday, April 7, at Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will be at Itawamba Memorial Gardens. Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Jones of Mantachie; son, Jeff (Angela) Jones of Tupelo; granddaughter, Olivia Jones; brother, Alfred (Rachael) Jones of Golden; sister, Janie Benefield; sister-in-law, Shirley Wiygul (Jim) Shows; brother-in-law, Kenneth Beck. Preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Martin Beck; mother-in-law, Eva Beck; brother, Sylvan Jones; sisters: Celeste Jones, Ruby Tucker, Lucille Wallace, Bernice Faye Wilson; brothers-in-law: Herschel "Pete" S. Wilson, Elvie Tucker, Mavis Wallace, Randy Wiygul; sisters-in-law: Janette Beck, Ann Jones; nephews: Patrick Wallace, Randall Martin Pallbearers are Tony Wallace, Stevie Jones, Richie Jones, Keith Martin, Danny Benefield, William Wiygul, Wayne Abbott, Harold Wilson, Channing Tutor, Nick Tutor Honorary Pallbearers will be Kim Glissen and the Dorsey-Friendship Fire Department Online condolences can be expressed at www.senterfuneraldirectors.com

    Mr.larry was the best neighbor he loved his animals goats horses and chickens and donkey and he loved helping my dad pick corn out in the garden . And until we meet you in heaven some day rest in peace Mr Larry you will be missed
