Obituary For Adron "Buddy" Dale Blaylock

FULTON--Adron Dale “Buddy” Blaylock, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born April 17, 1936 in Itawamba County to Troy and Essie Johnson Blaylock. He was given the nickname “Buddy” by his older brother, Charles. Charles would announce to everyone that “this is my buddy." He graduated from Ryan’s Well University where he was the last surviving member of the 1950 Ryan’s Well championship basketball team. He loved spending time with his wife, Thellon, of 52 years and with his family and friends. He was an avid Ole Miss sports fan and he was known for his humorous tales from his childhood of growing up as a country boy in Itawamba county. He worked with his brother, Charles, at Blaylock’s DX Service Station in Fulton for a number of years and worked at Itawamba Community College where he retired in 2001. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Fulton.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Terry Paul Graham, Bro. Tim Holsonback, and Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cemetery in Fulton.
Survivors include his wife, Thellon Senter Blaylock; his two sons, Dale Blaylock (Nancy) and Tim Steele (Louella); his two daughters, Cindy Steele West (Tim); Janna Faye Steele Young (Richard); his sister, Darlene Coggin (Bill); two sister-in- laws, Ann Blaylock and Sandra Nabors; his nieces, Mitzie Blaylock, Krissy Coggin Parrish (Jon), and Kim Nabors Wilemon; his nephews, Jeff Coggin, Brad Nabors (Billie), and Mitch Nabors (Dawn); along with seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Charles and his grandsons, Michael Ray Thomas and Jamie Steele.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Coggin, Terry Harrell, David Homan, Doyle Johnson, James McDowell, Mitch Nabors and Wayne Newsom.
Honorary pallbearers: Bobby Thompson and Ernie Wilemon.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15th at Senter Funeral Home.
