Lorene Elliff, 97, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017, peacefully in her sleep in Springfield, MO, where she lived with her son and daughter-in-law since February 2017. She was born July 23, 1920 to the late Mack C. Robinson and the late Belle Sullivan Robinson. Before moving to Springfield, she lived in Fulton, MS most of her life. Lorene liked to stay busy. She did not retire from her job as shipping clerk with Lanier Clothing in Tupelo until she was 82 years old. While there she had perfect attendance for at least 18 consecutive years. She was the oldest active member of the Fulton United Methodist Church where she loved doing volunteer work in the office, worked diligently at the Food Pantry and various other activities at the church. She was a faithful member of the Wesley Sunday School class. She rarely had idle hands as she loved crocheting and making beautiful quilts, which are now cherished and being enjoyed by family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 15, 2017 at Senter Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Box officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm tonight, Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at Senter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Masonic Cemetery.
Lorene is survived by a son, Jimmy (Johnnie) Elliff of Springfield, MO; a grandson Lee (Alethea) Elliff of Strafford, MO; great granddaughters Jordan and Jayla Elliff of Doniphan, MO; step great grandchildren, Brandon and Jamie White and great, great step grandson, Mason of Strafford, MO; sister, Belle McPherson, of West Point, MS; many nieces and nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Clements, James Neaves, Mike Nanney, Michael Nanney, and Larry Pate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hayes Lee Elliff, grandson Archie Elliff; sisters Margaret and Pauline.
